Pineland Suzuki School
Capital Strings
Capital Strings is a high caliber pre-professional string chamber orchestra that performs a wide variety of standard string orchestra literature several times a year. Pieces performed in the past include Vivaldi Four Seasons and Concerto for Four Violins in b minor, Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings, Copland Hoedown and Barber Adagio for Strings.
Prerequisite: Suzuki Book 5 or the equivalent, 3 octave scales, comfort in sight-reading, upper positions, advanced technical command, mature tone, intonation and vibrato.

Capital Strings is Pineland Suzuki School's advanced performing ensemble, led by PSS alumnus Anne McKee. All students in book 5 and up are eligible to join, with the commitment to practicing, rehearsals and performances. Past performances include the Manchester Apple Festival, the Maine International Conference on the Arts at Bates College, Service of Carols and Lights at Colby College, assisted living facilities, at the Maine State House, in NYC and Boston as part of the Pineland Crescendo Suzuki Studios Tour Group and Pineland Suzuki School Benefit Concerts.


In April of 2023, Capital Strings joined with Crescendo Strings of NJ and MA for a trip to NYC. February of 2024, we are planning a trip to Boston with the same group and more! PDFs for sheet music and playlists for Monti Czardas, Orange Blossom Special and Star Spangled Banner are here!
