Programs

Benefit Concert. All students, from pre-twinklers to advanced high school students participate in one big fund-raising concert in the spring, to help keep tuition reasonable and to offer scholarships for group class and summer study and workshops.

Solo Recitals. Each student prepares a well polished solo during Marathon Recital Week in May.

Master classes. During recital week, each student participates in a master class instead of their regular lesson. Two, three or four students, depending on level, take a lesson together during one hour.

 

Graduation Recitals. When students complete a book, they celebrate with friends, food and family. After polishing all the pieces and learning the techniques in the book,  students play a solo and a group piece at a recital in November or June.

Chamber music. Students in Book 3 and above may choose to play in a chamber group.

Advanced Ensemble. Violin, viola and cello students in Book 6 and up rehearse every week and perform several concerts during the year of standard string orchestra literature.

Pineland Fiddlers. Beginning, intermediate and advanced classes. Fiddlers play for contradances, fairs, take tours and make CDs.

​

Concerts. Students perform at many group concerts through-out the year, joyfully sharing their music with the community.

Reading. Besides  group repertoire class, each student participates in a reading class at their level, including pre-reading Music Mind Games,  Theory Class, and 4 levels of orchestra.

​

Group classes for violin and cello are the cornerstone of the Suzuki Method. Students learn to play beautifully together the pieces they have learned at home, about twice a month on Fridays.
